About Me
I decided to become a driving instructor because I enjoy meeting people, and I have always loved driving. After considerable research, I chose to train with LDC because the LD System provides a well-designed programme of learning with clear objectives. During each lesson a learner driver has a number of targets to reach, before moving on to the next lesson. This means that a pupil learns the simpler things first, and feels much more confident when we start to look at more complex tasks.
If this is your first lesson with me, but you have already got some experience of driving, I would drive you to a quiet area where I can assess how far you have progressed, and then I can give you some idea of what we need to do to get you up to the right standard to pass the driving test and continue driving safely.
From 2000-03 I worked as a Lecturer at Northumbria University, teaching business, project management and other topics, and one of the best things about the job was the contact with the students. During this time I gained a teaching certificate (Post Graduate Certificate of Academic Practice), with an emphasis on student-centred teaching methods. I am a Member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, and of the Driving Instructor’s Association.
